I don't do too many still lifes. This was done for homework in a class devoted to teaching rapid drawings techniques using felt tip markers

This is another still life done for the felt tip marker class

Flowers barn Window Dressing up the Barn

My wife likes flower pictures (not my thing). This watercolor is a compromise. It's a study on painting old barn wood with some flowers thrown in to please my wife.

Hydrangas Hydrangas

What can I say ! More flowers at the urging of my wife.

Pink Rose

For this to be a vignette it the painting should touch three corners.

White Rose

O.K. This is the last rose of summer and the last flower picture in this show. Now, let's get on to the landscapes.

Autumn in Rhode Island

When most people think of Rhode Island they think of the miles and miles of coastline and boating. Northern Rhode Island, where I live, is composed of beautiful hilly countryside. In the fall the area is filled with light and color. The idle hay rake signals the end of summer.

Downhill The Thrill of Skiing the Big Ones

After Fall comes Winter. I love the winter as much as the summer. In the summer we can swim, surf, sail, and lay on the beach. Nothing for me, however, surpasses the thrill of downhill skiing. We don't have much in Rhode Island but it's an easy drive to northern New England for some nice size mountains and great skiing. I confess however, to looking forward to my trip every year to Salt Lake City for a week of fabulous skiing.

Mountain Stream

These last two watercolors are of the same scene but with a little bit different emphasis. Here I'm focusing attention on the rocky mountain stream. Also, I'm tired of painting spruce trees so I have put some pines in this one.

View of the Falls

This view is closer to the actual scene captured by my camera. The stream is not as wide as depicted above, pine trees are not indigenous to the area and I've used a rather restricted pallete with my favorite color for drama.
